Did you know that the world’s largest hamburger weighed 2,014 pounds?
It was made in Minnesota in 2014, and was topped with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, bacon, and American cheese.
While the restaurants around our Germantown apartments don’t make burgers that big, they do offer gourmet options for every palate.
Eateries not to be missed include:
Dogfish Head Alehouse
The Dogfish Head Alehouse, located a 10-minute drive away, is where local craft beer and juicy burgers go hand-in-hand. The restaurant offers a warm, lively atmosphere, and boasts a four-star rating on Yelp for its experimental brews and exceptional service. The burgers come with beach house fries, including Dave’s Border. This blackened half-pound patty is topped with avocados, fried jalapenos, pepper jack, and pico de gallo. It pairs well with a pint of American Beauty and 90 Minute Imperial IPA.
Enjoy a day at the beach at Coastal Flats. It boasts that every day is a vacation, and the eclectic decor features mermaids, chandeliers, and fish hanging from the ceiling. The service is fast, and the complimentary bread served with honey butter is a customer favorite. For dinner, enjoy the bacon cheeseburger with American cheese, pecan wood smoked bacon, and Wicked Sauce. Coastal Flats is an 11-minute drive away.
Copper Canyon Grill
Copper Canyon, located a 13-minute drive away, is a unique destination, as it’s the only green-certified restaurant in Gaithersburg. Its four-season terrace overlooks the lake and boardwalk, while the spacious dining room offers private dining experiences. The restaurant is a fun place to meet friends, and it’s often the site of special occasion celebrations. In the kitchen, the chefs make the meals from the freshest ingredients. Try the Stanford cheeseburger with a side of fries and seasonal vegetables.
